About Me
I am an award-winning editorial professional with extensive experience creating engaging content. I blog and write travel-related stories about Italy, culture, art, and history, while I continue to cover entertainment and celebrities.
I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania, with a specialization in American literature. After college I got my start in magazines at the Writers Guild of America, editing the monthly Written By, for and about screenwriters and screenwriting. I became Editor-in-Chief, and after a full-scale redesign and renaming of the magazine, we won several awards, including an Editorial Excellence Award, Best Redesign and Best Overall Trade Publication from the Western Publishing Association.
I moved to New York City to take a Senior Editor position at TV Guide, where I rose to become Features Editor and then Managing Editor, overseeing a staff of 25-plus people, top-editing all copy and developing and producing content for numerous digital publications for the company.
In 2012, I began editing and proofreading e-books for NBC Publishing, including Operation Money, by financial expert Jean Chatzky; Meet the Press, 65 Years of History in the Making, Vol. 1 & Vol. 2; and Election Night: A Television History 1948-2012, by L.A. Times journalist Stephen Battaglio.
In 2013, I was named Executive Editor of Closer weekly shortly before it launched. Closer is a celebrity magazine aimed at the 50-plus demographic.
After a year at Closer, I left to pursue my lifelong dream of living in Italy, where I pursued freelance writing and editing for Closer, as well as travel publications, such as Dream of Italy.
I'm currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree in writing from Goddard College and working on a nonfiction true-crime memoir.
